The Iron Age is Born!!!!
Bronze weapons are obsolete now and the new and improved iron weaponry is up! You may think i'm going to talk about iron weaponry yes? No, wrong, tools are also used to maximize the versatile tools we use for our ongoing lives . Iron tools and weapons are on a whole new different level deviating from the dark bronze utilities/weaponry. If iron was to be created into a specialized weapon the Iron would be smelted into strong, light, and durable metal known as steel. Bronze was easier to mine although mining iron requires more intensive energy. Bronze can be easily melted in over a pot over a fire while working iron requires a specialized furnace compatible with iron. Steel is one of the hardest substances on the planet. It is certainly much stronger than bronze. This added strength meant that less steel had to be used to make effective tools, weapons or armor, making steel a lighter alternative. This strength also allows steel to hold an edge better than bronze. By 1100 B.C.E , iron had superseded bronze As the metal of choice of the Near East. Although bronze would be a great choice for outdoor applications whereas Iron pickaxes would mine quicker than bronze because it(iron) is a very strong metal. Iron has a vulnerability even if it finishes things quicker because iron would rust quicker. So that's why i mentioned that Bronze is used for outdoor applications. The abundance of iron ore throughout the globe meant that a civilization did not need to have an extensive trade network to equip its soldiers with superior metal weapons. Moreover, steel weapons could be produced much more cheaply, allowing aspiring empires to equip larger armies.
