Entertainment through Theatre
Regarded as the inventors of drama, the Ancient Greeks were able to construct complex and meaningful plays. It consisted of deep storylines, well developed characters, expressive themes and plots that are still being utilized to this day.
There are are 2 kinds of plays; tragedies and comedies.
Tragedies: These plays always had a tragic finish. At least one major characters consequently suffered disastrous ends. The "entertainment" in this is releasing those built up emotions whilst watching.
Comedies: These works of satire always had happy endings, usually poking fun at real people. As comedies were often political in nature, this kind of play normally affected how the people see political figures.
Cooper's Opinion
I have watched both of these kinds of plays but my favorite kind is the comedies because they are fun entertaining and after the play I feel good and happy because of the usually sweet ending.
